WOMEN BARRISTERS FORUM CURRENT PROJECTS AND EVENTS FOR 2010

Current WBF projects include a multi-media presentation documenting the experiences and achievements of the first 25 women to practice at the New South Wales Bar and promotion of the Equitable Briefing Policy.

Events in the WBF 2010 calendar include:

• a reception for women at the New South Wales Bar hosted by the Federal Court of Australia and the Honourable Chief Justice Michael Black AC on 23 February;
• a lunch for women readers at Buena Vista Cafe above the Supreme Court building on 21 May from 12:45;
• the annual WBF drinks function in November to congratulate women barristers who have been appointed senior counsel.

We also encourage women barristers to raise their profile by presenting educational seminars for the bar and other members of the legal profession. If you are interested in presenting a paper or have an inquiry relating to the participation of women in legal education seminars, please contact a member of the committee and we will endeavour to assist.
