Donations by the silks of 2006
There is a strong tradition of philanthropy at the New South Wales Bar. One example can be found when each year’s senior counsel appointments donate a gift to the association or, particularly more recently, to one or more charities. Last year's silks donated $18,278 to each of three worthy causes.
Father Riley's Youth Off the Streets Overseas Relief Fund Sue Kluss, barrister and director of the Overseas Relief Fund (pictured left, with Michael King SC) accepted the donation on behalf of the fund, which provides non-religious and non-discriminatory assistance to children in countries emerging from conflict and other challenges.
